Education in Maternal-Fetal Medicine
The Maternal-Fetal Medicine division is active on all levels of education at Penn State College of Medicine from medical student core curriculum lectures, Problem Based Learning and clerkship teaching, to residency didactic and clinical teaching, MFM fellowship didactic and clinical teaching, and institutional teaching (invited internal and external grand rounds, NICU fellow rotations and didactics). Our educational activities include:
- MFM weekly meetings (Wednesdays from 7 to 9 a.m.)
- includes the MFM fellowship didactic series with lectures by internal and external speakers, high risk case reviews, ultrasound quality reviews, journal club, collaborative patient care meetings (ex. monthly Cardio-Obstetrics meeting).
- OB/GYN residency rotations in inpatient and outpatient Maternal-Fetal Medicine (PGY-2 and PGY-3)
- OB/GYN residency Maternal-Fetal Medicine lectures
- Medical and physician assistant student OB/GYN clerkship rotations in Maternal-Fetal Medicine
- REP 730 Reproductive Medicine course (MS2)
- OBGYN 722 Maternal-Fetal Medicine Acting Internship
- OBGYN 724 Preparation for Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology Elective
- Perinatal Conference (weekly clinical review and CME lectures)
- Complex Fetal Care Center monthly meeting
