Susan McHale, PhD, Distinguished Professor of Human Development and Professor of Demography, is a developmental psychologist with interests in bio psychosocial processes in human behavior, health and development across the lifespan.

Her collaborative research focuses on youth development from childhood through young adulthood and highlights the roles of gendered family dynamics and sociocultural context in well being and development.

McHale is also an Associate Director of Penn State’s Clinical and Translational Science Institute.
