Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine

Our educators provide training at all levels of practice, from medical students pursuing clerkship opportunities to practitioners seeking continuing education programs.  

Faculty in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine are active in basic, clinical, and simulation/education research. 

Our department is an integral part of Penn State Health, specializing in providing anesthesia services to patients undergoing surgical and medical procedures in addition to seeing patients in chronic pain management and pre-anesthesia clinics. The department is also involved in pediatric anesthesia through Penn State Health Children's Hospital.  

The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine’s collaborations and affiliations with Penn State Health and Penn State include the Clinical Simulation Center and Chronic Pain Management Center.
