The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine is dedicated to advocating for patients and students, and strives to excel in research, education, patient safety, and the alleviation of suffering from surgery and pain.

Our educators provide training at all levels of practice, from medical students pursuing clerkship opportunities to practitioners seeking continuing education programs.

Research

Faculty in the Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine are active in basic, clinical, and simulation/education research.

Clinical Care

Our department specializes in providing anesthesia services to patients undergoing surgical and medical procedures in addition to seeing patients in chronic pain management and pre-anesthesia clinics.

Partnerships

The department collaborates with Penn State and Penn State Health, including the Clinical Simulation Center and Chronic Pain Management Center.
