Building on our rich history of pioneering research in heart pumps and artificial heart development, our dedicated faculty and staff continue to innovate, developing new medical and surgical interventions aimed at saving lives. With over 65 clinical and basic science faculty members, the Heart and Vascular Institute provides comprehensive and multidisciplinary clinical services across eight subspecialties. Our mission extends beyond patient care; we are committed to educating the next generation of cardiovascular physicians and conducting cutting-edge basic, translational, and clinical research. We offer a complete spectrum of clinical services for hereditary and acquired cardiovascular diseases, ranging from preventative cardiology to therapies for advanced heart failure and complex aortic and vascular disease. Our nationally recognized heart failure, transplant, and artificial heart programs underscore our commitment to excellence.

Our esteemed faculty includes general and diagnostic cardiologists, adult congenital heart disease specialists, interventional and structural heart cardiologists, electrophysiologists, heart failure cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, vascular and endovascular surgeons, cardiovascular intensivists and basic scientists. We provide both outpatient and inpatient treatment, diagnostics, and screening services across the region, and we are proud to be the sole heart transplant center in central Pennsylvania.
