Biography
Medical school: Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School - Piscataway
Omar was born and raised in Jersey City, N.J. He pursued an undergraduate degree in Cellular and Molecular Biology with a minor in Chemistry at West Chester University. Following this, he earned a master’s in biomedical sciences at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and conducted research on sleep medicine. Omar attended medical school at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson and took a dedicated research year to study optogenetic models for post-traumatic epilepsy. Outside of his professional life, Omar enjoys traveling, hiking with his dog, competitive paintball, snowboarding, and exploring global cuisines. He also has interests in finance and politics believing it’s important to have a well-rounded engagement with the world. Omar is dedicated to excelling in neurosurgery while embracing a life of adventure and continuous learning.
