Biography

Medical school: University of Connecticut School of Medicine

Mitch grew up in Connecticut and went to Connecticut College for undergrad then UConn for med school. He majored in English in college and the only science course he took was astronomy. He found his way to medicine (and ultimately neurosurgery) after reading “When Breath Becomes Air”. In between college and med school, he did the post-bac pre-med program at the University of Virginia and then spent a year working at a bariatric surgery clinic. He’s planning to do functional neurosurgery, but also has an interest in neurocritical care, and general neurosurgery. When Mitch is not at the hospital he loves to run long distances, snowboard, and hang out at home with his fiancé and dog, Gus.

Academic Interests: Functional neurosurgery, neurocritical care, general neurosurgery and English literature
