Biography
Beth Smith, C-TAGME, is an accomplished Graduate Medical Education leader with more than 24 years of experience managing residency and fellowship programs across multiple specialties. She currently serves as GME Coordinator II for Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, where she oversees program operations, accreditation compliance, trainee recruitment, and the coordination of residency and fellowship education.
Nationally recognized for her contributions to graduate medical education, Beth received the 2024 GME Administrator Distinguished Service Award from the Association for Academic Pathology and currently serves as Chair of the Association’s Graduate Medical Education Administrators Section (GMEAS). She is known for her innovative approach to recruitment and technology, as well as her commitment to mentoring and supporting GME coordinators at both the institutional and national levels.
Outside of work, Beth enjoys camping, spending time with her family, and cheering on her daughter’s Penn State softball team.
