Integrated Undergraduate-Graduate Accelerated Master of Public Health

Penn State College of Medicine offers an accelerated Master of Public Health (MPH) degree program for Penn State undergraduate students.

Program Overview

The accelerated MPH is open to students enrolled in Biobehavioral Health, Health Policy and Administration, Kinesiology or Nutritional Sciences degree programs.

Penn State students enrolled in the integrated undergraduate/graduate degree typically complete their undergraduate requirements in four years and complete their MPH degree in their fifth year. During their fourth year, students will take 12 to 15 graduate credits that may be applied to both undergraduate and graduate program requirements.

Penn State Biobehavioral Health, Health Policy and Administration and Nutritional Sciences students interested in the accelerated MPH program must have a GPA of 3.25 or above.

Kinesiology students interested in the accelerated MPH program must have a GPA of 3.3 or above.

During their third year, students apply to the accelerated program through the Graduate School at Penn State.

MPH IUG applications must be submitted by Feb. 15 via Penn State GRADS (not SOPHAS).

The MPH degree requires 42 credits, of which 12 to 15 credits can be applied to both degrees. The double-counted credits are taken during the fourth year of the undergraduate program.

As part of the MPH program, every student participates in designed to take their knowledge into the workplace.

The Accelerated MPH degree program is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health(CEPH).
