Hepatology

The division’s hepatology laboratories seek to improve outcomes for people with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, liver cancer, liver disease-related coagulation disorders and other liver conditions.

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD)

The division’s inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) laboratories investigate a variety of topics, including epithelial barrier function in IBD, the impact of immunological modifications in the gut, and the interplay between IBD and intestinal neuroendocrine signaling systems.

Interventional Endoscopy Research

The Penn State Interventional Endoscopy Group has an active and longstanding program in investigator-initiated research and prospective clinical trials.  Current interventional physicians actively engaged in research and innovation are Drs. Matthew Moyer, John Levenick, Hadie Razjouyan and Jennifer Maranki, whose research covers a wide spectrum of interventional procedures such as EUS-guided tumor ablation, endoscopic mucosal resection and publications on best practices and quality assurance.
