PGY-4 ResidentNeurosurgery Residency

Biography

Medical school: Penn State College of Medicine

Kyle grew up in New Jersey and completed his undergraduate studies at East Stroudsburg University in Pennsylvania, majoring in athletic training. After graduating in 2014, he spent five years working as an athletic trainer at the New Jersey Institute of Technology, a small D1 university in Newark, NJ. During that time, he developed an interest in neurologic disorders working with athletes with concussions and spinal cord injuries. He also completed a master’s degree in molecular biology from Montclair State University in 2019; started medical school at the Penn State College of Medicine, getting to stay here for residency starting in 2022. Some things Kyle likes most about training here is the collegial nature of the program, not just with fellow residents but also the attendings, and the way our program is supportive of each resident’s interests and provides the flexibility to pursue them. Kyle is a member of Congress of Neurological Surgeons resident committee and will be serving as co-chair of the medical student subcommittee this year. He is also one of the resident representatives of the Pennsylvania Neurological Society. Outside of the hospital, Kyle enjoys spending time with his two sons (James and Finley), and wife Laura, being outside going to parks, soccer games, swimming, and Hershey Park.

Academic Interests: Neuro-oncology and cerebrovascular neurosurgery
