Who We Are

Mission & Overview
The Penn State Hershey Clinical Simulation Center improves patient outcomes by developing and delivering simulation-based programs that enhance clinical competence, teamwork, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The Center houses three departments — the Simulation Lab, the Resuscitation Sciences Training Center, and the Standardized Patient Program — and serves learners from Penn State Health, the College of Medicine, and beyond. We also lead research and faculty development to further the science of simulation in healthcare.

Simulation Fellowship
The Penn State Clinical Simulation Fellowship is a one-year immersive program for healthcare professionals seeking leadership in simulation-based education. Fellows gain hands-on experience in scenario development, debriefing, curriculum design, and educational research. Working with expert faculty, they contribute to real-world simulation courses and research, with a strong focus on interprofessional learning and scholarly growth. Graduates are equipped to lead simulation programs and advance healthcare education through innovation.

Nationally Recognized Simulation Accreditations
The Penn State Hershey Clinical Simulation Center is accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH), the American College of Surgeons (ACS), and the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA). These prestigious accreditations reflect our commitment to excellence in simulation-based education, research, and innovation.

Designed for Realism and Readiness
Our Simulation Center features realistic mock environments including fully equipped operating rooms, intensive care units, and emergency departments. We utilize high fidelity manikins such as SimMan 3G, infant and pediatric simulators, and advanced task trainers to mirror real world scenarios. Integrated audio-visual systems allow for in depth debriefings and performance review, ensuring every learner gains hands on experience in a controlled, safe setting.
