Education in the Department of Medicine
The Department of Medicine's objective is to train the best clinical and academic providers possible.
The department's many provide the opportunity for trainees to learn in-depth the fundamentals of basic science as applied to clinical practice in both general internal medicine and a number of subspecialty disciplines, all while providing an outstanding patient-care experience.
A number of opportunities are available for medical students as well, including . Meanwhile, continuing education programs provide opportunities for providers in general internal medicine and many specialties to refine their skills.

Credits are offered for various programs on topics such as LVAD, diabetes, IBD, oncology, long-term acute care and more.

Grand Rounds and M&M Conferences
The Department of Medicine Grand Rounds series sessions take place from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. every Tuesday from August to June, except the fourth Tuesday of the month, which is reserved for Department of Medicine faculty meetings.
The Department of Medicine Morbidity and Mortality Conference sessions occur once a month from noon to 1 p.m. on a Wednesday, typically the third week of the month. These sessions are facilitated by the chief residents and are scheduled from September through March.
