White Coat Ceremony
The White Coat Ceremony is to welcome you into the profession, and to renew your commitment to professionalism and humanism in the practice of medicine. You will be presented and "cloaked" with your white coat by a distinguished Penn State College of Medicine physician and faculty member then you will recite the Oath of Modern Hippocrates.

Keynote Speaker Biography
Jennifer Kraschnewski, MD, MPH is the Vice Dean for Research, Clinical and Translational Science at Penn State College of Medicine and Director of the Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute. She is also Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Medicine, with additional appointments in Pediatrics and Public Health Sciences.
A nationally recognized clinician-investigator, Dr. Kraschnewski's research focuses on improving health through behavioral and community-based interventions, with an emphasis on chronic disease prevention, rural health, and translating research into better patient care. In addition to her research leadership, she continues to teach medical students and residents while caring for patients in primary care.
