Biography
Paula Lozano is a behavioral scientist and social epidemiologist who investigates how risk factors such as social norms, socioeconomic status, gender and age, influence health-related behaviors. Her research focus includes mental health, investigating the influence of loneliness on alcohol use and access to healthcare among Chicago residents. Dr. Lozano's research has also focused on understanding the relationship between acculturation and mental health among Hispanic/Latinos from diverse ethnic backgrounds using data from the Hispanic Community Health Study/Study of Latinos (HCHS/SOL). Dr. Lozano oversees all data analysis, research development, evaluation, publications, and grant proposals.
