Kate Konkle, MPH

Kate Konkle is the Lead Health Educator for the Office for Cancer Health Equity at the Penn State Cancer Institute. Kate joined the OCHE in April, 2020.

Kate has over 10 years of experience working with communities to improve health and advance equity. Prior to her work with OCHE, Kate spent 11 years at the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. She worked on state wide and national projects focused on building and strengthening community partnerships to improve health. As the Program Manager for the Healthy Wisconsin Leadership Institute, she developed trainings and workshops for communities in areas including partnership building, coalition logistics, action and evaluation planning, and implementation.

As a Community Coach and later as Team Director for Community Learning with the County Health Rankings & Roadmaps program, Kate developed online learning materials, coordinated a national webinar series, and designed and implemented in person and virtual trainings and peer networks. She also worked directly with local community leaders to build knowledge and develop skills and capacity to use data and evidence to create positive community change.

Kate holds a Masters in Public Health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State. She was born and raised in Harrisburg, and while she’s spent much of her career in Wisconsin, she’s excited to return to her roots in central Pennsylvania.
