Education in the Department of Dermatology

The Department of Dermatology serves a spectrum of learners, ranging from patients, physicians and staff as lifelong learners, to students, residents and fellows.

Education is crucial to the practice of medicine and contributes to high-quality patient outcomes and innovation, leading to better care and value.

Students and residents learn from and with departmental providers and patients during rotations in a variety of clinical locations. Residents and fellows benefit from accessible attendings, excellent instruction, leading-edge technology and a competency-based curriculum - all rooted in a collegial program and community.

A number of opportunities are available for medical students as well, including clerkships, acting internships and electives.

Meanwhile, continuing education programs such as Dermatology State-of-the-Art Issues and Grand Rounds provide opportunities for providers in a number of specialties to refine their skills.
