We aim to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying oxidative DNA damage following exposure to aerosols from conventional cigarettes and electronic cigarettes. Utilizing both in vitro and in vivo experimental models, we seek to identify and characterize biomarkers of exposure and harm. The findings are expected to contribute to a deeper understanding of the genotoxic potential of these aerosols and inform public health strategies and regulatory policies.
