Saima Farooq, MBA

Saima Farooq, MBA, is the Innovation Manager for the CMI. She supports the Innovation Fellows and Capstone programs, provides project management, and leads communications and engagement initiatives.

Saima previously spent several years at Pfizer, where she helped launch of Pfizer’s Digital Innovation Lab. As the Global Healthcare Innovation Challenge Lead, she collaborated with Pfizer’s business units to identify and define challenges, addressing critical issues such as clinical trial adherence. She led the end-to-end design of Pfizer’s Innovation Challenge service and cultivated and leveraged the external ecosystem to find best-fit startups that could help solve these challenges. This process resulted in strategic digital health partnerships at Pfizer. She also produced the company's first official TEDxPfizer events on a global scale, ultimately creating a platform to showcase both internal and external innovation. Saima is a Penn State alum with BS degrees in Psychology and IST. She has her MBA in Innovation Management from Temple University.
