Biography

Dr. Jessica Orner is a board-certified Family Medicine physician and Geriatrician with additional training in integrative medicine and buprenorphine therapy. She earned her medical degree from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University and completed her Family Medicine residency at Lancaster General Health. She later pursued fellowship training in Geriatric Medicine, which continues to shape her commitment to whole-person, compassionate care for older adults.

Clinically, Dr. Orner provides care across a wide spectrum of settings including outpatient geriatrics, primary care, and long-term care. She has a particular focus on dementia care, polypharmacy management, and supporting older adults through transitions of care. Her integrative approach blends evidence-based medicine with a deep respect for patient values and goals.

Within the residency program, Dr. Orner serves as an Associate Program Director. She is actively involved in resident education through clinical precepting, didactic teaching, and advising. She values the opportunity to help shape future physicians and enjoys the energy, curiosity, and diverse perspectives that residents bring to patient care and academic discussions.

Dr. Orner’s professional interests include improving care models for older adults, interprofessional teamwork, and advancing education in geriatrics. She also has a passion for exploring how integrative approaches can support resilience in both patients and healthcare professionals.

What excites Dr. Orner most as a faculty member is the opportunity to continually learn and grow alongside residents—challenging assumptions, embracing complexity, and working collaboratively to improve systems of care. She finds joy in helping learners find their voice and build meaningful, sustainable careers in medicine.

Outside of work, Dr. Orner enjoys reading, gardening and spending time with her family. She finds balance and inspiration in culinary adventures, nature, and travel.
