2025 Innovator of the Year
Seth Pantanelli, MD, MS
Professor and Vice Chair of Clinical Research, Department of Ophthalmology
A committed clinician-scientist, Dr. Pantanelli has a history of developing novel solutions to improve surgical outcomes and patient experiences in ophthalmology. His most recent innovation—a biodegradable ocular implant designed to eliminate the need for post-operative eye drops—addresses a longstanding challenge in ophthalmic surgery.
2025 Investigator to Watch
Alireza Mansouri, MD
Assistant Professor, Department of Neurology
Glioblastoma remains a highly aggressive cancer, with no significant advancements in the standard of care for over two decades. In partnership with biomedical engineers, Dr. Mansouri’s innovative approaches for minimally destructive drug delivery and tumor sampling are promising to the future of treatment.
