Stress Reduction Consult: Individual Mindfulness Training
Are you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, in pain, or under constant stress?
You are not alone. Many patients struggle with anxiety, depression, chronic pain, chronic stress, and difficulty adjusting to challenging life circumstances.
We now offer one-on-one Stress Reduction Consults with a physician for patients in Pennsylvania, designed to help you build practical skills to calm your nervous system and improve your well-being.
What Are Stress Reduction Consults?
These sessions are based on the well-known program.
MBSR has been studied for decades and shown to help improve:
Anxiety
Depression
Chronic pain
Stress
Quality of life
Blood pressure
Traditionally, MBSR is an 8-week group course that is not covered by insurance.
This offering brings the same evidence-based principles into a personalized, one-on-one medical visit format that is billed like any other office visit for patients in the state of Pennsylvania.
How Do Stress Reduction Consults Work?
You will meet individually with a physician for:
4 weekly visits
40 minutes each
Focused on mindfulness skills and nervous system regulation
Tailored to your specific needs and health concerns
Between visits, you will be asked to:
Practice guided meditation
15–20 minutes per day
Use provided custom audio recordings to support your practice
These visits focus on skill-building and stress regulation. Medications are not prescribed during these sessions.
Why Mindfulness?
Stress affects the body and brain. Over time, it can contribute to:
Muscle tension and pain
Poor sleep
Elevated blood pressure
Anxiety and low mood
Difficulty concentrating
Mindfulness training helps you:
Notice stress responses earlier
Regulate your nervous system
Respond rather than react
Develop greater resilience
Improve your relationship to pain and difficult emotions
This is practical, learnable training - not just “relaxation,” but a structured method for improving how your mind and body handle stress.
