The Office of Technology Development (OTD) works with faculty, staff and students to identify intellectual property as well as the optimal approach to protect and commercialize it. OTD has a variety of methods to commercialize an invention. When evaluating the best approach, OTD will consider intellectual property protection, economic impact, commercial potential, whether a start-up company should be formed and future research plans in deciding how to proceed.
