Chief Compliance Officer

Kimberly Lansford, RN, BSN, MHL, joined Penn State Health as Chief Compliance Officer on Feb. 20, 2017.

Kim joined the organization from Shriners Hospitals for Children in Tampa, where she was the chief compliance officer. Like our Penn State Children’s Hospital, Shriners is dedicated to improving the lives of children by providing pediatric specialty care, innovative research, and outstanding teaching programs for medical professionals.

Before Shriners, Kim spent eight years in various executive-level risk management and compliance roles with Trinity Health, a national health system with hundreds of hospitals, continuing care facilities, home care agencies and outpatient centers in 22 states.

At Gwinnett Hospital System in Lawrenceville, Ga., she directed the corporate compliance program for two acute care hospitals, a psychiatric hospital, inpatient rehabilitation facility, ambulatory surgery center, skilled nursing facility, foundation and several physician practices/clinics. Prior to that leadership role she held a number of other roles with Gwinnett, including emergency department case manager, coordinator of occupational health and infection control, and director of health, safety and security. She also has experience as a trauma nurse at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, a level-1 trauma center in New Jersey.

Kim holds a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing from Florida Atlantic University and a master in health law, with a specialization in legal regulatory compliance, from Shepard Broad College of Law, Nova Southeastern University, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She holds a Certified in Healthcare Compliance certification and has been the recipient of the International Compliance and Ethics Award by the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics.
